Job 024
Halden Coffee
A roaster outgrew its market stall. We gave it a name, a mark and bags that hold their own on a supermarket shelf.

The brief
Halden had sold out every Saturday for six years under a hand-painted sign. With a first supermarket listing signed, the founders needed a brand that worked at arm’s length, without the two of them standing behind it.
What we made
We kept the hand-painted warmth and gave it a system: a rounded serif wordmark, a sun mark that doubles as a roast-level dial and a bag layout that can be reprinted in one colour when cash is tight.
The result
The new bags reached 140 stores in the first quarter. Halden now sells more coffee by subscription than it ever did from the stall.
